Snow shovel types
- Scoop shovels — deep blades for lifting and throwing snow.
- Snow pushers — wide, shallow blades for pushing snow off driveways and walks.
- Combination shovels — medium-depth blades for pushing and lifting.
- Ergonomic shovels — bent shafts or auxiliary handles to reduce bending.
- Compact and telescoping shovels — aluminum or poly shovels that fit in a car trunk or emergency kit.
Blades, handles and wear strips
Polypropylene blades are light and do not rust; aluminum blades and steel or aluminum wear strips on the leading edge extend life on concrete and asphalt. Handles are steel, aluminum, wood or fiberglass, with D-grips, T-grips or padded grips. We quote blade width, depth and handle length per model; load or strength ratings are not claimed. Packaging can carry the familiar guidance to push rather than lift where possible, lift small loads and take breaks.
Building a snow-removal range
Shovels sell alongside ice cleats, snow brushes and ice scrapers. For roofs, add a roof snow rake; for snow throwers, a snow blower cover.
