Backup power products we quote
Generator transfer switches let a homeowner power selected circuits from a portable generator while keeping the house isolated from the utility line. Interlock kits are a lower-cost mechanical alternative fitted to the main panel. Power inlet boxes mount on the exterior wall so the generator cord plugs in outside, and generator cords (twist-lock and straight-blade) connect generator to inlet.
Why weather-protection distributors add backup power
The same storms that drive demand for storm shutters and flood barriers also cause outages. Transfer switches and generator cords are natural cross-sells for hardware stores, electrical wholesalers and installers serving hurricane, ice-storm and wildfire-shutoff regions. Surge protection for the panel is covered in lightning & surge protection.
Safety and compliance, honestly
Backfeeding a house without a transfer switch or interlock can endanger utility workers and damage equipment. All products here are mains electrical equipment intended for installation by a licensed electrician. We do not claim UL, ETL, CSA or other listings by default; products are built to customer-specified standards and available test reports can be provided on request.
